We offer quick, easy claim rebates for Remedial Massage & Acupuncture, if you hold the Southern Cross Easy Claim Wellness I or II and the extra Body Module. We can also do receipts for other health insurance companies as well.

Cleanliness, Comfort and Full Treatment Time as Advertised

We work hard to ensure you receive a top class treatment, our treatment time as advertised is what you will get: from hands on, to hands off. We endeavor to be on time, and we massage you using freshly laundered, clean, comfy, AND warm linen. Our rooms are at a comfortable temperature -warm in the colder months and cool in the warmer months.

We have covered memory foam on our tables to ensure you don’t go out more stiff and sore than when you came in (especially important if you’re over 40!). We clean our clients clothing basket and the table between EVERY client and we have special laundry for infection control, not just the concern of COVID, but any other viruses or bacteria that humans can pass to each other.

Why do we use the term “Medical” for acupuncture?

With a 20 year career in aged, disability and respite nursing, as well as beauty and massage, it is a natural progression for me to want to utilise all my skills from the past and combine them with my Bachelor of Health Science Acupuncture Degree to treat pain, injury illness and trauma.

I have hired like-minded, experienced therapists with similar goals i.e. that want to focus on the reduction of suffering for clients, and who also possess great customer service skills; We treat with quality and care.

Acupuncture can get fantastic results! Acupuncture is a highly developed modality that can help with a wide range of health problems. For example: mental health stress, anxiety sleep issues (insomnia), physical health including improving immunity, systemic health such as treatment that may reduce the symptoms of arthritis, endometriosis, headaches, pain including all back pain, autoimmunity conditions, and many other health conditions.

Remedial Massage: We offer both East and West, so what’s the difference?

Western Remedial Massage has a focus on knowing and understanding the physiology of the body well. A range of techniques like myofascial release, soft tissue techniques, and many others, combined with a desire to care and nurture clients so that remedial massage also FEELS good.

Eastern Remedial Massage called Tui Na (pronounced T-wan-na) is an acupuncture point style that is often hard and fast, but highly effective. It is a Chinese-style massage but can be delivered to suit. It’s also great for sports treatment when your muscles are too tight.

As the owner I like to combine both my remedial and chinese medicine theories for massage, so I use the meridians, acupressure points for massage.

About Us

At Auckland Massage we provide a range of massage treatments from relaxation, remedial and sports, right through to care and comfort massages for the elderly.

We have a clinic in West Auckland which is located at 396b Don Buck Road, Massey.

We have 2 air-conditioned treatment rooms and a welcoming reception area with water fountain and eco friendly recyclable cups. We also have super comfortable and warm, electric tables to help you relax. You won’t come out more uncomfortable than you came in!

Finding Us

We have no shop front. Our staircase is located between the Kiwi Roast and Pizza Club shops, in the original block of Massey shops by the Triangle and Don Buck Roads roundabout. You may also recognise this location as it’s opposite the Mobil petrol station, in the section of shops with the Pharmacy, Hospice and Dairy.

Parking

There is ample free parking both in front of and behind the clinic, with no time constraints. If you’re in for more than 60 minutes however, you may wish to consider parking on the roadside to free up carpark’s for the other short-stop businesses.

Security

We have security cameras installed in the stairway and reception to protect our property and for our workers personal safety. We do not have cameras in treatment rooms.

You’re in Safe Hands

We are qualified and experienced staff, with a minimum of 18 months training in Massage and we are ALL First Aid trained as well.

Our therapists focus on you, your treatment goals, and any aftercare advice needed to help you remain mobile and active. You do not need to have painful massage to get results or benefits! All our staff will consult with you before your massage, every time you visit. We take notes after each massage so that we can refer to them in future and keep up with any changes you are experiencing.

Health Insurance Rebates

Rebecca Dodson is a registered provider for Southern Cross and other allied health associations therefore, you will be eligible to do an “easy claim” after your massage, if your insurance policy provides this level of cover.

A receipt will be emailed after treatment which can then be provided to Southern Cross or other health insurers in order to claim your rebate.
