Today I was reminded yet again, how versatile and useful the benefits can be for period pain and massage.
I have been treating a client for lower back pain on a monthly basis; Today she told me that her period pain had been far less intense and she had experience no cramping since we started, which was three months ago.
I am currently studying Chinese medicine which focuses deeply on systemic issues involving the blood and am learning about their fantastic theories about why some women get so much pain while menstruating.
They also have some great lifestyle advice which can help too. Culturally, we tend not to know so much about this in the Western world.
So, for the woman reading this (or partners/husbands of), for period pain, regular massage definitely helps!
Our staff can help women who dread their “time of the month”. In some cases, reducing the pain and cramping that can occur with menstruation can even mean less reliance on medications.
Techniques used to reduce the discomfort and pain include massage and dry needling.
